OK guys, I have pretty much worn out the search button on the site, and I apologise if I've missed a thread that explains this comprhensively, but I'm tearing my hair out here!

I purchased some HID's as my headlights are rubbish. I proceeded to follow one of the threads on here in regards to removing my headlights (aftermarket black ones). Easy.

Took them out, and it looks like the aftermarket headlights have a weird connector for the main light. Is it supposed to have a wiring harness that just plugs into the back? Mine has a rubber cap with wires running through, but they are just blade-ended and connect to the globe and the surround to power normal globes.

I took these out and tried to just retrofit them to the HID ballast and it just flickers. What do I need to get to connect them. Its a bit dodgy connecting the wires to the ballast so is there some sort of wiring harness I can put them into that will plug in?

Cheers all

Haha fair enough Allan, I'll post up when I get home, but I beleive that when you pull the standard globe out, the OEM wiring has a harness on the end (HB4), is this true? something like :

Whereas mine had something much more like these (pos and neg)

Should I just buy a couple of HB4 heads like the above link, and splice the +ve and -ve wires from the car to the harness and then attach it all that way?

As I said, pics to follow...

Are you talking about the 12v or high voltage side?

from the existing loom to the ballast a insulated spade is fine, I noticed with the kit I installed that the spade terminals weren't tight so I crushed them slightly with pliers to make them a tight fit.

Flickering may be due to a poor connection, check all the connectors are tight and the battery is charged when you switch the lights on

Thanks David, I'll try tightening everything up when I get home.

Evan, they are HB4/9006's, I thought they were the only ones that fit?

The after market low beams are different to the standard Soarer low beams, so if you got a HID kit to fit a Soarer, then you will have the wrong globes (been there, done that)
