Hey guys, this is not quite car orientated but i assume some of you will know how to wire this up.

Its a unit which is in line with an extension cord. It senses temperature (eg fridge) and when it reaches a certain temperature it will turn the fridge off or on.

All i need to do is cut an extension cord and wire it in using the following instructions. If someone could let me know which wires go where that would be great

Hope this helps, this is my understanding of the circuit, but i have made it realistic, how the cables would realistically be wired, not schematically.

above diag is not correct. The earth is not used, it is only active and neutral that are used

connect neutral from the mains to pins 1 and 11.(use a jumper to go from pin 11 to pin1) connect active from the mains to pin 12.

wire the female 240 plug active to pin 12 and neutral to pin 2

Buy an appropriate length extension cord and cut it into two pieces and use it for the connections.

(blue is neutral, brown is active)

24v is lethal and any wiring should only be carried out by qualified personell)

Tom,

Based on my power point image, i wasn't intending on him actually visualising the earth that i painted, clearly earth is not used.
But thanks for typing out what i had proposed in the picture.

The way i've wired it up is

240 main to pin 12, neutral to pin 11. Positive from pin 2 to the fridge and neutral from pin 1 to the fridge.

Will i have to bridge the neutral or will the controller do it?

I Would have expected that it would be internally done, but based on the schematic they have provided, it looks like you have to do the bridging.

Does your fridge not have it's own temperature regulation?

i guess there's no harm in trying without bridging. It'll either turn on the fridge or it wont

Somethings not right. The fridge wont get power. I'd also like to point out before we go any further that i do have an understanding of circuits and relays etc but this diagram is unclear to say the least.

Currently i have
Pin 1: Female neutral
Pin 2: Female positive
Pin 11: Male neutral
Pin 12: Male positive
Pin 1 and 11 bridged

What i cant work out is that in the first picture i posted it looks like when the controller wants to turn on the fridge it activates a relay and bridges pin 1 and 2. If this is the case why is there a positive to pin 1 and a negative to pin 2? It should be Male 240v pin 1 and female positive pin 2.

I can't figure it out....

Thanks, Jacob

Pin 12: Male positive, Female Positive
Pin 11: Male neutral
Pin 1: Bridge to pin 11
Pin 2: Female Neutral

Thats the way i see it.

This makes more sense, although i'll double check with an electrician before as this is 240v AC which kills!

michael is correct

you had pin 1 and 2 incorrect. "load" is the fridge
one side must be neutral, the other side active.(after switching)

It does, but this is for beer brewing where temps in some cases need to be higher than the set fridge temps. Ie larger: 10C-15C
