They are usually disabled as part of the process of getting Soarers registered in Oz. The original mirrors are convex whic is not allowed under Australian regs. I don't think they can be re-activated.

The demister is part of the original curved glass which, as Murray said, is removed as part of the compliance process.

They are hard to find. Possibly Yahoo Japan might be the best bet, or a compliance centre.

Yes, they only made you change the drivers side one for compliance

Allan do you have a part number?

Based on my research it looks like there are four RHS mirror sub-assemblies (ie the glass/reflective bit) and the Lexus parts are cheaper than the Toyota ones. I'm sure the expensive Toyota unit is ultrasonic (found from 1991 onwards) and the expensive Lexus unit is auto dim found on the late model (found from 1997 onwards) cars.

87931‑24140 - Soarer unit ~$260
87931‑24190 - Soarer unit ~$30

87931‑24120 - SC400 unit ~$20
87931‑24150 - SC400 unit ~$200
