Hi all, I need some advice. I have had most of the interior out of my car and have been cleaning all the leather etc, and now I have started putting I all back in. So I put the drivers door trim back in, and then turned the car on to open the windows. Immediately there was a squeal coming from the LH ultrasonic mirror. Windows wouldn’t go down, and operating any of the switches just changed the pitch of the squeal. So I turned the car off, and unplugged all of the connectors in the door, turned the car on, and no squeal. I then just started plugging things back in, and even just plugging in the door light made the mirror squeal. I can’t work it out. The only thing electrical I have done to the car was put another EMV/tapedeck in. (The touchscreen works, but doesn’t have backlight.) Can anyone shed any light on this please?

look for damaged /pinched wires in the loom.
A common fault is broken wires between the door and the car body that stop the windows working.could give your fault if a couple of wires are broken an dshorting out. Cut the black sleeve back and check thru the loom.

As Tom says most likely a short in the loom.
Don't cut the sleeve, remove the kick panel and the door panel and remove the entire loom from the vehicle and slide it out the sleeve and check all the wires.

The switch panel snaps out ,so you could turn it upside down?, its just if water was on top of the panel and run down into the mirror switch it would short out and try to turn the mirror shake on all the time.
