At this stage we're guessing the ECU. Theres no power to the fuel pump which makes sense given the intial symptoms. The auto electrician that's had a look at it hasn't ruled out that the original ECU needs replacing, but after seeing the 'superb' wiring for the e-Manage, his thoughts were to pull it out test it and put it back in. Have arranged a tow, heading over to an auto sparky in greenslopes that came recommended. We'll see how we go!

You could try to see if some one will let you try their ecu to if that is the problem. Before you ''Ășnwire'' what sounds like a very professional install.

@Dan... I think that's what the auto electrician was doing but he still couldn't work out whether it was the original ECU.
@Paul... I wouldn't know who to ask to be honest mate. I think it's about $366, for a new ECU and Toyota have them in stock, so the turn around time won't be unbearable.

@Dan + Brett... Yeah the first auto electrician did that and what do you know, car was working again and now it's been at Greenslopes Auto Electrix since Monday now... told him exactly that, rang a moment ago and they're still looking to work out what the problem is. Couldn't even tell me what he's been doing to diagnose it.}

ive got a manual ecu sitting at dylans workshop at the moment that works perfectly. you are welcome to borrow that as a tester. the only thing is you will need to manually shift gears as it is for a manual so doesnt have the auto gearbox ecu built in. we have used it to diagnos a few Toasted ecu's now.
