Your original plug that went into your bulbs plugs into the ballast (The silver box) out of the silver box is two connectors that hook up to the two connectors on the bulb (they are polarised).
I have found you do not need the other cables attached. As for fitment into the headlight i am not sure as when i got my headlights (aftermarket) they were modified to take H1 globes. I've read you do need to trim the tabs on yours to get it to fit but do a test fitment first.

Thanks everyone (especially Wayne for emailing me with excellent advice). I was looking on the wrong email account (I have a few).
In the end, thanks to the great help here and from Wayne, it was just so easy fitting these. I think all the wires just threw me.
It does show, once again, though, that if only the supplier of these H.I.D's could include CLEAR BASIC instructions, then other people would find it equally easy to fit them.I know these replacements are not always for Soarer's but a quick note stuck in the packaging (maybe even including a warning to avoid handling the 'globes' themselves) would be ok for most cars.
