Well fck.

just jumped in the car and my airbag light is now permanently lit when driving. Haven't touched the dash. Does anyone know what could cause this?

I Will attempt the "reset" on the weekend.

As a side note I'm getting a new battery on the weekend and cleaning the earth points. I'm getting this strange A/C panel dimming when the indicators are switched on.
So possible earthing/voltage problem might be causing this?

I'm leaning towards battery. In any case the dash has to come out as it has a later model in it already. I have 3 other to pick from as well... :-/

Cheers Dan
I'll post up how I go.

The reset is fun Ashley. If you have to do it, make up 3 wires with female spade bit ends on each wire to plug into the OBD under the driver's dash. Read the tute well and have a go. Easy after an attempt or two.

Check your driver's footwell fuses too.
I had the airbag warning in my 31. Turned out to be a blown instrument-gauge fuse.

As for the blinking A/C control light, mine was solved with new bulbs. T3 neo wedge i believe.
Alternatively, it might be your batteries.

Edison - What else are the symptoms of the blown instrument gauge fuse? I would have thought it wouldn't light up at all...

Richard - sounds like it could get me quite angry...

Forgive me for getting your hopes up Ashley.
Forum stomping and studying do not go well together.
My error was the ABS warning.
