Not really sure if this has been happening for a while now (don't need to use CC around town), but for some reason if I turn on the cruise control and set it the car starts to accelerate. If I try and set it at 50km/h (so well above the minimum) it'll accelerate to easily above 60. If I set it at 110 it'll usually creep up to about 115 (haven't had much of a chance to try it at other speeds though).

Car has a PowerFC and (either because of the PFC or because of another mod) the CC has been de-limited, but it has been working perfectly fine up until relatively recently at least.

Any ideas? CC light doesn't flash to indicate a problem, but I haven't tried pulling codes or playing with the butterfly/actuator yet.

Not sure, my cruise is stock. But still seems to wander a bit. I'll only use it on the highway, at 108 but it still seems to wander from 105-113. Unless its late at night with no cars around I drive without it.

try driving at 100km/h, and hold your revs steady, so the car maintains the same speed. Now look at your speedo. Does your speedo fluctuate?

I have noticed that if I'm doing 80k's say, on the throttle, it will wander from 77-83k's. It's pretty hard to maintain a constant speed.

I don't drive it every day, but the times I do it seems fairly easy to maintain a constant speed without using CC, so I don't think it is throttle/pedal-related.

my question relates to if the car varies indicated speed(ie on the speedo) but actually doesn't change its speed at all. If so, the speedo sensor on the trans is faulty, and plays havoc with cruise control. Easy to replace.

the ecu has a speed sense wire the cc references. check that.

Luckily, the system should be easy to fault find by swapping boxes/ accuators around. buy the Soarer bible and start working on it!
