My windows stopped working way over a year ago (along with the mirrors etc) and I spent several hours looking inside the drivers door for any wire breakage. In the end I found just one wire broken, fixed it and expected everything to be tickityboo but alas, still no door electrics.

I've not had the time and certainly the money to get it fixed.

However I had to have the PASSENGER door inner panel off a few days ago and noticed these wires have been either cut or maybe broken. In 'the flesh' I couldn't see (with my crap eyesight) but in this photo I believe it looks more cut than anything else.

But then I wonder why it's been cut? I had the usual alarm/imobiliser fitted twelve years ago when I bought the car so possibly the muppet who did that fitting may have cut these. I'm hoping that if I re-join these wires again, my windows will play ball again.

Any thoughts, opinions or advice anyone?

Hi mate my wires are the same it must be from a previous install of a remote or something. I bought switches thinking it was faulty but when I took panels off I saw plenty of cut wires. I just joined them again and its working. The light thicker blue wire is for the window if it does not work. I had to open the rubber loom and found more broken wires.

Thanks Eugene. Do I understand it right- you thought it was your switches that were broken but when you re-joined the broken or cut wires, you then found the windows etc worked?

I've opened the loom on the drivers side and only found one wire that was broken. Fixing it did not get the windows working though. I've owned the car 12 years and the windows worked perfectly up until just over a year ago. I'm thinking that if these wires ARE cut (and as yours were the same, then mine probably were before I got the car) then fixing these will also not get my windows working.

I unplugged the blue connections and I think a white one just under a big black square fuse on the driver side and pulled all the wires through the panel and through the door and then took the black speaker box out with four screws then just let it hang out the door then inspected every wire individually until I found several broken. I also had ones broken in the foot well and soldered them together again. It was a whole day's job but was worth it. Call me if you get stuck. 0418979940

Thanks Eugene. I'll have a good look at it tomorrow. When you say 'a switch to test the wiring for the window, can you explain what you mean?

Ah, gotcha. No I think I should be alright. But thanks for the offer. I'll try and put some time aside to delve into the wiring later today. Many thanks Eugene.
