So, I was politely informed by a man in a nice blue uniform last night that my rear tail lights are out. He even gave me a nice yellow A4 piece of paper to celebrate the fact. Something called a defect.... LOL

Anyway. I've been looking into it, and my rear park lights are getting no power.
I pulled both plugs, and test for power on all the wires. I have both indicators, brake, and reverse lights, but no power to the park lights.

I also checked at the dash warning unit (little red box in the boot) and again,no power on the park light wire (Green/red).
I checked the fuse in the D/S kick panel, using this
http://members.westnet.com.au/rbaird/SOARER%20WIRING_110_0001.jpg guide to located the right fuse, #2. The fuse is fine, so now I am lost lol

If there was a short in the wiring between the fuse and rear lights, surely the fuse would've popped?

Does anyone know where, after the fuse, the wiring to the rear lights goes? Does it go through another fuse somewhere?

Are your tail lights stock or aftermarket? the same thing happened to me early last year on some aftermarket smoked lights and it was a little yellow box added to the wiring loom for the tail light globes itself, got hot and created a short and fried the tail lamp warning module box, so I had no parking lights at all

1)do you have front parkers? the tail light comes from the same cct as the parkers.
2)does the rear number plate light work? prior to the "brown/red box", the wire splits, 1 wire going straight to the number light and the 2nd to the "box" and then the tail light.

Just dragging up this oldy. My number plate lights dont work(both of them) Everything else is OK.
Am going to have a look in the next couple of days.
Would be odd for 2 globes to go at once, but you never know.
Anything else I should be looking at bar the obvious(power to the lights)??

Dont panic(not that anyone was)
Looks like rear bar has been off at some time, and whoever cut the wires to the lights, and obviously didnt bother to hook them back up.
All good now.
