Hi guys can someone tell me what shape plug is on a soarer alternator. Getting a new one and seller wants to know if a plug is round or triangular. My one still on car and don't know how to check this. Thanks

Different years had different plugs. I believe 1991-1994 was oval and then 1995-2000 was round?

there are round and oval. adaptor leads can be purchased to adapt one to the other.

Pull the elect plug off the rear of the alternator and see if it is round or oval shaped.

It goes roughly like this :

For Soarers :

For 6 Cylinder TT 2.5L's Upto 1994 is Round Plug. 1995 On is Oval/Square Plug

8 Cylinder V8's, Upto 1993 is Round Plug. 1994 On is Square Plug.

3.0L Non Turbos all Square/Oval.

LS400s and Celsiors Upto 1991 was all Round. 1992 can have some round and some square as there was a changeover point and then 1993 Onward is all Square/Oval.

If you drive a Supra. MK3 Supras are all Round, Mark 4 Supras are all Square/Oval.

For Aristo 6 Cylinders Upto 1993 was Round. 1993 Was the Changover Point so later 1993 Models and onward have a Square/Oval Plug.

Aristo V8's All Square/Oval.
