Hi. Sorry for the urgent introduction. Just bought a uzz32 from toowoomba to geelong (20 hour drive) and now im stuck half way on the side of the road.
Car had an electrical niggle or 2, if i stop sometimes the car would die. It the old "check" light on the dash. I learnt to deal with it by disconnecting the battery for a min then fire it up. Battery is great condition aswell. I pulled over and now no matter what fuses or disconnections i do the car wont even crank, everything works, but im guessing something electrical is governing it
Iv been on the side of the road for about 20 hours (no one is open sundays), and iv got half the dash pulled out, seing if i can find an imobilizer. Nothing/no wires spliced or anything to suggest aftermarket stuff. And the car only came with a single key, no fob or any immobilizing stuff.
Obviously i got the car half way and it can work. I am quite electronically capable, so any suggestions guys? Stuff to try? Iv tried jump starting and all the usual "press hard against the park possition", and spent all night reading up on many post and it does have the symptoms of an imobilizer, anything i should look for under the bonnet? Or can i bypass the ignition and fire the starter up, and if so, which relay is the starter?
Thanks guys. Hope my next post is on better terms. Il b able to fix everything when im at home so i just need a real makeshift solution before i make a newcastle mechanic/auto electrician drive an hour or get towed there and $1000 later stil be in the same possition

check in the diagnostic port on the engine that you have 12v at B+ with the ignition on.
If not take the cover off the fuse box near the battery and wriggle the round silver relays. Hopefully you hear some relays clicking and 12v appears at B+.

I dont have a fusebox cover :s but i just got it started by putting the key in the on possition and bridging 2 of the starter relay contacts for a sec. Worked perfectly. Will b able to get home. Thanks heaps though. Now to fix the flat tyre (the reason i had to pull over in the 1st place) what can i say, eventfull trip ;) Il introduce myself properly when i get home. Cheers

hi jade, glad you got it going. I carry a puncture repair kit,(same as tyre shops used yrs ago, push a plug in without removing the tire from the rim) about $15 from any of the auto spare shops. It has been worth its weight in gold, saves going miles on the "spare".
