Finally pulled EFI 14 & EFI 15 codes from dads uzz30.

It says Ignition No 1 (and No 2) Signal.

'No IGF1/IGF2 signal to ECM for 8-11 consecutive IGT1/IGT2 signal'.

How in god's name do we fix this?

Used to run fine. Parked up for about 3 weeks, went to start it, ran and died. Went to restart over a period of a few months and it just coughs, splutters, and huffs smoke from the back AND out the airbox.

Could be the ECU, can you borrow one for a test?

Hmm, no don't know anyone direct with one.
Been told it could be a number of things (ignition module etc)

Did you manage to fix this?

My VVTI 1J is throwing code 14 consistently.

Usually misses then tries to cut the engine and stalls if the revs are low enough. It may or may not restart easily and doesn't seem to mind if its hot or cold (although it's more often than not hot when it starts playing games).

It's been off the road for over 4 weeks and is on it's second mechanic. I'm starting to think it could be the ecu. Keen to know how you sorted it, if at all.

Still haven't sussed this one. Haven't been able to get our hands on an ECU to test it.

All wiring seems to be intact and serviceable at this stage.

Will update in the coming months (given Dad's severe procrastinationitis).
