I have started removing the EMV unit from my 1994 UZZ31, half the interior is stripped out. There are 2 units behind the driver's seat. One is the GPS, is the other the TV unit? It connects to aerials in both rear side windows.

Is the radio aerial only in the rear window, as per the non EMV cars? What about the aerial amp?

confused,
Jan

Radio Aerial amp is a small vented box fitted, rear right side of the back seat, just bellow the 1/4 window.

the units on the rhs under the rear seat are the anolog tv units/ You do not need to go there for the EMV conversion.

You need to remove the EMV (do a search) you need to remove the AC control unit.

The new radio unit and TT control are mounted using the mounting brackets from the EMV. The TT climate control is wired in using the loom you have constructed. The radio unit is wired in using Acc , +12v and ground that are on the old EMV connectors

from jaycar buy an antenna extension lead to run from under the rear LHS seat to the new radio. You can change the small Antenna plug to a normal size and use a 2 into 1 adaptor to go into the antenna extension lead and thereby use both antennas in the car, instead of only using 1.

Tom, I am removing all the old items. Will cut the TV aerials from the quarter windows, having removed the TV receiver. I will run 2m RCA leads from the new DVD/GPS unit to connect into the old radio/amp connector under the rear seat and use the original Amp to avoid rewiring the speakers.
I have a TT controller which I am wiring into the ECU wiring and intend to combine both antenna leads into one as you recommended.

I will also recap the Airbag unit while I have the dash this far apart.
