Hi all, this is my first major issue i've had with a soarer thats taken longer than a few hours to diagnose and fix..
Here's the story, driving around town the other day all good.. stop for a bit to visit someone, come out to start car and no go.. will crank but won't start. wasn't to hot or to cold outside, nothing out of the ordinary was happening and it's starting to drive me a little crazy..
setup is stock 97 1jz vvti..
i've so far checked the igniter, engine ecu, fuel pump ecu and fuel pump by process of replacement and elimination.
I can hear the fp prime, i started to remove the rubber hose in the tank to change the fuel pump and fuel squirted out.. it only seems to prime now when i turn the key back to off (could be that theres already enough fuel in the injector rail). it will also prime on IGN if i do the bypass. it did manage to start for about 1 sec and then just died again.. did that a few times..
It's not throwing up any error codes when i try to start it.
So.. after all that still won't start.
I'll check the coil packs and spark next just to make sure that's all good (could be dodgy earth ?) and it's the next on the list of things to check and cross off..
Any other suggestions on what to check or where to look ??
