Recently bought a 1999 Toyota Soarer, imported from Japan and I can't get the electric windows and mirror adjusters to work. I have checked the fuses and they seem to be all absolutely fine, I've pulled the door panels off both sides and checked all the wiring and they too appear to be absolutely fine. When I press on the window button there isn't even a noise which makes me believe there is nothing wrong with the window regulator or motor. So I'm now at a complete loss as to what the problem is. If anyone else has experienced this problem before or knows what it could be I would really appreciate the help. Thank you!

a common fault is broken wires in the loom from the drivers door into the car.(the loom is pulled with the door opening and closing) Check if there is any damage. There is a plug in the side panel near the accellerator.

Thank you. I did check those wires but they appear to be absolutely fine. All in good condition

you will need an auto electrician to confirm with a test light or multimeter to check for voltages, as the wires can be broken internally with only the outside insulator intact.

to check you need to remove the insulation on the loom and "part the wires" to check if any are broken

Hi. No I haven’t yet found the problem but haven’t had much time to work on it. When I used a power probe I managed to get the mirrors working but not the windows. Will have more of a play with it this weekend.
