Having a big electrical issue, when I start my car (V8) unless I use the throttle to keep the revs up it just does and the dash flashes up with an electrical issue Any thoughts
Likley that you will just get another bad one, unless you get one that has been recapped by someone reputable already. They are all in need of it unless have been done.
Get yours recapped by someone who does these will be best avenue imo. Mike Beck, Tim schroeter, few others are good. Avoid your local tv/electronics repairman etc as they generally use sup par caps or dont replace all etc.

Not sure Luke. I'd just get in contact with one of the two fellas above and post it. Mike has good turn around times and does good work/tests in a car etc.

Is it a series 1 or series 2 ?
If it’s a series 2 I could help you out with that ecu repair, I’m not doing s1 ecu’s just yet but have some new gear coming next week which should make the repair of those a little easier.
