The driver front seat in my Soarer 3.0L has lost firmness. Every time I sit on it the flat part of the seat makes a clunking noise and I can feel that it is not even anymore. The experience is very similar to that of a table when it has one leg shorter that the other three. I wonder if this is a symptom that is telling me I need to buy a new seat or I am able to repair it. What could cause this peculiar behaviour? I have checked the five bolts that keep the seat firm on the car floor and these are very tight indeed. So the problem seems to be with the horizontal seat body itself. I remember reading in a forum about somebody being unable to move the front driver seat because the roller bearings had fallen out of one of the tracks.

Under the seat cushion there is a sprung plate, could be one of the 4 springs has broken or come out. Take the seat out and have a look underneath, you may be able to get to it, otherwise you will need to take the base apart to fix it.
