Had a hangover this morning, went into to get greasy bacon and egg burger, left car running, dog inside, come out and you wouldn't believe it. Cannot open drivers side door! Passenger door is naturally locked. Dog is looking a little frantic as no air conditioner on. Now I had a choice, smash the window or get this guy to break into it. I got him to break into it. Now I have interior paint damage and also rubber damage and also leather damage. ARRRGHHHH

Man, he must have been one clumsy arsed guy. Sounds like it would have been cheaper to break the glass.
Agreed, if you ever have to break glass to get in remember that the smaller windows will often cost a lot more to replace than the windscreen for example as they are not a common replacement.

Pen,
Dont think (from reading over a few times) that she's got the broken thingo.
Think she has an issue with the interior of the door becoming damaged by the method used by the clumsy break-in.
Paintwork (if not to deep) could be fixed with cutting compound and polish.
Rubber damage could would almost certainly be a new door seal from Toyota.
The leather you might need to check with an car upolsterer.
I did almost the same thing last night, driving back from Brisbane to Sydney, decided after Natures calls where getting louder and louder to pull over and answer the call. Anyway, not wanting to shut the car off after belting down the freeway for the last 5 hours, I decided to leave it running and lock with it. Anyway, I was lucky, I left my sunroof open, so just jumped up and entered via the runroof, and drove off, didn't even bother unlocking and re-entering the car via the door, just climbed in via the sunroof.
