The fitting instructions, if followed, make the removal, and going back to stock, very likely to be difficult, if not impossible. But it can be done without the removal of all the parts suggested.

There is no need to remove the PRNDL panel. A simple wire can be routed down the shifter hole, and back to the centre cupholder (remove the cupholder).... you need a right angle flat blade driver to lever of the stock connector, which can be seen from the cupholder. Take the Levoc wires, and attach Dick Smith brass spade connectors and insulators, after reducing their width (a file jobbie), from 2.8mm (as I recall) down to 2.5mm. These will then slide into the stock connector female (you can tape them if you wish), and then you just concentrate on fitting the shifter. The instructions for that are fine, but it didn't take me anywhere near 2 hours. More like, 2 weeks thinking and about half an hour to do..... As for the shifter loosening, use Loctite on the grub screws and really give them curry with the Allen key.... should be good for life

the eBay handbrake cover from what i can see looks exactly the same as the levoc ones...

as you can see in this

I also have the Levoc gearknob, which I got from the USA ebay for a whopping $40! +$30 postage and it was here in 3 days... it arrived before the handbrake cover did. The only difference I think is the OD button is on the other side being from the US but I like it like that :-)

From your photo the colour doesn't match at all.

Please provide the link to the original auction.

Considering you spent $40k on a Laser I can understand your logic.

I never took the laser down the quarter mile... with that much power the gearbox's liked to explode... especially the 4WD ones I went through 3 in three years, but guys with the same power roughly do low 12s depending on how much money they have for straight cut gears and cryo treating the outer casing and how game they are.

yeah the colour is a bit different to the gearknob, its slightly brighter, being from a different company it is understandable

is the link to the original auction, he had like 8 of them up for sale all $40 starting bid or $70 buy it now... only the two wood ones sold from what I saw

The TX3 4WD turbo laser was fun :-) that was my logic... pushing the OD button with my index finger instead of my thumb just feels right haha

Ben, i have a levoc gear knob as well and i dont suggest it, its all plastic fantastic and i payed for my one almost $300 including the hand brake Knob.

the hand brake knob just clips on from the top and the gear knob isnt even original, the main screw is on the wrong side, so all that is holding the knob is the damn three little screws (which losen up time to time)

if you can get it for less then $100, get it if your really want it, other wise spend your money on something betta :-)

The same guy has them up on his ebay again... all the styles, but being US the OD button is pushed with your index finger instead of your thumb...

So.. anyone else got any opinions about these?
I'd like to get something like this, but don't want to waste my money if they're crap.

Ive got one in my car mate and im pretty happy with it.

I did lower it at little though as it sat a little to high for me.

The quality is ok i guess but they have always been pretty expensive. Depends on the look you are chasing.

I went with chrome and white and it works well as it matches my boost gauge and chrome bevel thingo.

So no problems of it coming loose as mentioned by others?

Chris, I had the woodgrain Levoc knob on my Soarer for 3.5 years, and had no problem with the installation OR with it coming loose...........Recommended.
