Are the low beam headlight breather tubes available separately from Toyota? Or do they only come with a new headlight as a complete assembly?

I have searched the main forum before posting. Is the ALSC Archive no longer available? I couldn't find the ALSC Archive today but have used it earlier in the year.

I ask as I resealed my headlights on the weekend just gone. One breather was completely missing and two were destroyed leaving only one complete working breather.

Has anybody substituted anything else to work in place of the factory headlight breather tube & filter?

Thanks in advance.

I heard you can use some hose from a... hose (e.g. garden hose) and stick some sponge into there, apparently does the same thing BUT don't quote me on that :-)

Highly doubt that they're available on their own from Toyota but if they are let us know.

Jose is right, your best bet is to make one up - don't look as good, but will do the job.

ALSC has moved to another website.

Have a look at the garden irrigation section of your local hardware store. They should have sections of hose in different diameters and bends etc.

Yup Andrew got a bit of similar diameter rubber hose from Para Rubber and put a bit of No 8 wire through it to get similar kink to original and applied heat to it so rubber stayed kinked when wire removed shoved bit of sponge rubber in the end and bingo no hassles. Found one of mine was missing when I took my headlights out a couple years ago. Doesnt really need tutorial for this one.

Rod, No.8 wire, you'd have to be a Kiwi!
