Search didn't help Can anyone remember where (or who) the slimline weathershields were available from? I believe they were being made in China, not the same as Toyota ones. The new owner of our '95 model wants a set. Thanks!

That name rings a bell, thanks Simon. I may have had an email from him so might be in my address book. We were looking at getting a new set for the '97 (I took them off the '95) but I chickened out due postage issues and the fact that the removal and refitting was such a pain, not wanting to go through it all again. Cheers

What kills the deal is the postage in Oz...they are a little bit too long for some postmasters. That is why in the 2 original group buys that WERE done they were for Melbourne pickup. I know because I bought a set, $110, the last of 12 that were brought in in 2 group buys. I don't think he is doing them now.

He's not- I emailed him. He's not doing Soarer stuff at all. The factory in China must still make them though.

Maybe if six or more could get in a group and were in Melbourne he would do them or if they were interstate somebody could arrange a carrier to a metro area???? Just putting it out there, he may just say no anyway. And good luck finding a chinese factory that makes them.

Rob Andreacchio has been a moderator on SC since it became a public forum. However Rob now has his own forum which will take most of his spare time, so has resigned as a moderator on SC. I wish Rob well with the new forum and he will remain a welcome contributor to Soarer Central. For those that wish to check out the new forum and perhaps recapture the feeling of the old ALSC, it is available here: http://www.reepa.com/cgi-bin/discus/discus.cgi

It sounds like a travesty of monumental proportions is befalling the ALSC. I guess some people should not be given too much power. The founder of the ALSC has had his moderator rights removed. And just before the 10'th anniversary of the ALSC. That just shouldn't be. You mean THIS one, Peter??

Dan, since you asked, I meant this one: http://forum.lexusaustralia.org The ALSC web site is http://www.lexusaustralia.org so they are obviously closely related.

Talk about hi jacking a thread on some wind deflectors!! BTW as far as I have been told the ALSC didn't start until 2001 before then it was known as Lexus Australia Owners Register or the like....it is very interesting to see the clique forming as we speak. What a shame fragmentation occurs like this. Very similar to LSOC and TIF in the UK. OR have I completely mis read the current situation? I guess the wind deflector thread is dead?

Did I miss out on something in the last half week that I haven't been reading up on threads in front of my pc, due to uni requirements??? lol In all seriousness, did I miss out on something? P.S. No intention of hi-jacking the thread, Peter if it sounds like it, you may remove my thread, I give you permission lol

Anyway, weathershields can be got, about $170 a set delivered, straight from Japan Toyota. I have a set on my Prius and they sure do work.

Oh and the difference in price may be the difference between genuine and aftermarket. I'll bet they are the same damn shields, just suffering from OEM markup.
