I'm a fan of the early model taillights on my soarer but I wasn't happy with how they looked at night. So I modified it with inspiration from other cars on this forum. I also added my front fog(turning) lights. Love the look at night!!!

Four tail lights instead of two, driving lights instead of turning lights.Have done the rear myself but prefer the turning lights as I have blue led driving lights installed beside them.

I think the rear lights now light up on both sides of the rear brake light (fairly sure at night its only the inner most side which lights up when brakes aern't applied).

Then he's just wired up the turning lights to come on with the low beams.

At least i thinks thats what happened

Exactly! Before only the outer lights on the rear would light up. Now they all do and get brighter when brakes are applied. And my turning lights are connected to the low beams. Really simple stuff. I'm actually surprised how many people don't notice how the tail lights on early soarers light up. If you want a before shot, imagine the tail lights without the middle lights on.

I know exactly what you did. I did these mods a few months ago. Good job.

Makes the car look HEAPS better I rekon. Something simple like that. I hated the way the tail lights used to light up, the double light is how it should have always been. And the driving lights are a nice touch.

Wire the driving lights to a switch though...police dont like them. I havent got mine on a switch and a cop stopped me and asked me to turn them off.....luckily he was an id!ot and I just turned all my headlights off and he was happy lol. Drove away in the dark. HAHAHA

Don't seem to have a problem here in S.A. See a lot of cars such as BA Falcons driving around with them on. One of my previous cars was a MK2 Escort. I had artic blue style lights in the grill hooked up to a switch. I would always leave them on, got pulled over plenty of times at defect stations as they checked over the WHOLE car. Never had troubles even though it had a straight through exhaust but I will put a switch just in case...
