Hi all, does anyone know where i can get a new / 2nd hand pearl white fuel filler door for my soarer, whilst filling up the hose swang around and broke it in two. I have been trying wreckers and import yards but to no success, the best they can do is offer me a green or silver one. would it be worth buying one and re-spraying it?

any idea's would be great

I think I have one, but with the freight costs, it'll probably work out just as cheap to get one resprayed. Although colour matching pearl white is a nightmare but you'll probably find differences in factory paint of that age now anyway.

Yeah, getting another coloured one resprayed will probably be your best bet. Shouldn't be too much anyway.

I know it's nowwhere near you, but I can get good colour matching done at a place in Wollongong, south of Sydney.

They did a colour match for my custom pearl midnight blue 180sx, took the fuel filler door off, left it with them for a few days, came back and got the filler cap and a tin of paint.

The paint was perfect, and matched the rest of the car perfectly.

If you want colour matching, get electronic 'eye-matched' paint, and you probably wont notice the difference.

cost was only for the paint, something like $65 for .25 litres (it was pearl).

Then there was primer, thinners, hardener, etc.
