Hey guys,
I just received my new side skirts and rear apron today. I was going to fit & spray them after my exams in a few weeks, but in my excitement i have already sat them along the car to check the fit.

I have a few questions though:

1/ I'm just wondering if there are any specific screws to use, or are the factory ones in the mud flaps fine? & what is used under the number plate to attach the apron?

2/ Where do you get the 3M double sided tape everyone seems to use during fitting?

Cheers

Is that how body kits go on? Just double sided tape and a few screws?

They also used a little bondo to smooth out the finishing lines on mine.

also know as sikaflex they use it in windscreens .

you need to make sure you have it fitting pretty good from the start before you go playing with sikaflex, messy stuff.

works well.

Hey Dave what's the 'bondo'?

Hayden, got that price from 3M website, but saw some for $2 today, I'm sure it wouldn't hold like the industrial 3M stuff though.

Looks like a fair bit of work to get it to fit right. Front bar fitted with only minor alterations (bought form another place), this rear lip (Vertex copy) has some issues trying to sit it flush and it doesn't have that little flair out just after the rear wheel.

When i get them fitted I'll post some pics.

honestly you dont need double sided tape to hold a kit on.

the tape is more for badges ect.

Bondo as kinda like plaster in a way. Say, its easier to bondo a car b/c it smooths out nicely. They've used that stuff starting in the mid 1980's as a cheaper and faster alternative to replacement of body parts. It kinda fills in the "gaps"
