So I recently purchased a Vertex Ridge widebody kit from VERTEX Aus. Received it without any dramas, the quality of the fibreglass is exceptional, I dummy fitted it to my rear quater panel today just to see how wide it actually makes it, it makes a giant difference.
Not sure what colour to paint the car once the kit is kitted ,was thinking Bayside Blue off the R34 GTR, or keeping her white with a gold pearl through it.
But other plans are Supercharge the 1UZFE in it, or drop a worked 1JZ in there, not sure what to do yet.
Interior getting redone too.
Anyone, here's the picture! It was worth every cent already.

What are your thoughts on colour?

Welcome to the Forums Mate,

Should look good once its all matched up and you got wider wheels to fill out the wheel guard

If you have the money and you may need a bit of it for a high quality job, Definitely repaint the Car to the Blue colour you mentioned or I recommend a Rich dark Candy apple red metallic, If I had the money thats what my soarer would be coloured.

Whites nice but personally I feel Soarers are miles better with darker colours so I would look into it before you consider S/C it.

Might be wise to convert it to manual prior to supercharging if you have the funds to do the lot, a 5 Speed 1UZFE would be gold! But money is what it really comes down too. :-)

Hi, thanks!

I have around $9,000 for paint job and $10,000 for the donk. Not sure what i'm going to do, might be cheaper for the power to bolt in a 1JZ or 2JZ. Can pick up half cuts for around 3k nowdays.
I think i'll be getting some giant work or volk wheels to fll out those gaurds, 11 or 12 inches wide, see how I go.
I got my hands on the 97' Grille & Fog Lights for all up $400 delivered to my door, good deal i think, toyota wanted to charge an arm and a leg for those items. Going Supra TT Brakes and slotted rotors, braided lines.
Interior is going to be painted all black, woodgrain replaced by gloss black, and 2 racing seats in there, either recaro/sparco or possibly momo, somehing simple and stylish.
Alot of money but i love my soarer, she is my first car so it's definatley worth all the time and money put into her, well in my opinion anyway.

I reckon keep it white with the gold pearl, would look sweet! And don't forget to get wide wheels to suit :-)

You probably wouldnt even consider this BUT if you do decide to go down the 1JZ route wouldn't it be easier to just buy a 1JZ soarer in the first place?

Seeming as you are going to add the wide body, respray, change the interior, wheels, rebuilt 1JZ etc. You could pick up a rough example for not much more than the price of a halfcut, which wont matter too much as you will be replacing the interior, respraying and building the motor anyway. Also you will have all the correct wiring looms etc.

Very good point Kyle!

Im fortunate to the fact got a 2JZ Soarer already as later this year Im going to consider a 2JZGTE swap which is not overly difficult as its mostly a straight swap due to the common parts and what not already being there... :-)

It be rather different in a 1UZ equipped car Im sure... Alot more work.

Are you referring to NA-T conversion Dan? Well Ive thought about that but considering Ive got a mechanic thats VERY familiar with the 2JZGTE/1UZFE and is able to import engines from Japan with low kms in good condition for a reasonable dollar and then install them It seems like the better way to go... Rather than upgrading the internals etc of a stock 2JZGE to run some decent boost which is also quite doable but would most likely cost more and be more fiddly as far as I know.

Have to look into each and see whats going to be the most cost effective hassle free way. No rush of course...

If you're talking about Mike's car Daniel, we're lucky enough to not have the engineering system you guys run over the ditch, they just have to be certified after the work is done.

As for Dallas' car, I imagine it'd be easier to start with a JZZ30 if he wanted to go that way.
