Seb, I think that you better define a black mark.

I have made a claim through my insurance company for damage that I did not cause.

Yes I did have to inform my new insurance company that I had made a claim, that it was paid out, and that the other people involved were charged with the damage. Now I only have to do this for 5 years.

At no point has it raised the cost of insuring my car.

I was 22-23 at the time when I made the claim, and in the following 9 months I changed insurance companys. I had no problems getting insurance. I kept my 65% no claim, and even moved to a "worse" area, and yet still had no issues.

Hey James,

I think your car needs a wash man....the front looks a mess!

Nah seriously though man, I'm really sorry about what happened. I know how many days & weeks & months of work you put into this car. It was a really nicely put together car.

If you still can....I would love to swap my centre console panels with your glossy ones. Maybe buy the wreck back depending on price...cause you've got some nice goodies. That dark wood trim would sell nicely I would think.

Anyway, bad luck man....I'm glad you are ok.

Geez some people just don't deserve a licence.

I hope you're OK James. As long as you weren't hurt mate. I know how much it can hurt seeing something you worked so hard on just all come crashing down in a matter of a few seconds due to someone else's lapse of judgement..

I am only speaking from personal experience. I recently changed insurance companies and just like Ryan I had to state all claims made. When I was shopping around I tested a couple of companies more than once with slightly different details. The price went up when I said that a claim had been made even though it was not my fault and the other person had accepted liability.
Was just a personal experience.

Great to hear that its working out though James! Certainly was sad to see her like that.
