Is the rear Toyota logo and word SOARER on the back of the 91/92 put on with glue or with screw mounts through the trunk lid?

when i remove them am i going to have to bondo/repaint or just use the special dissolver to remove the adhesive and let them just fall off and the trunk will be clean?

The Lexus Vs Toyota argument has gone on since the inception of Soarer Central and ALSC. I believe it is one that will never be resolved and all comes down to personal preference.

I still say it came from the factory as a Toyota, was registered as a Toyota, so your two options are Toyota or debadged, anything else is calling a ferret a stoat. But I guess in the end its as pointless as telling someone you don't like their ricer mods either - in the end they will do what makes them happy.

Would the badging on the celsior be the same I want to remove the toyota badges and just leave celsior on it. Are these adhesive or will they leave holes as well?

Actually my V8 was registered as a Lexus Soarer until I notified my local transport authority about it.

Ryan, it probably will leave holes.

Actually it comes out of the Lexus factory which funnily enough is owned by Toyota. Marketing decisions are made based on support costs and consumer preferences in target markets and brand value in each such market.

It is called badge engineering, invented in America.

Some people fall for this sort of thing.

Mike, I think we are both pretty conservative!

Hey meant to ask how did you get on with those speakers? I got the head unit installed though there was a lot of rewiring to do! Sounds good though - now I need a small amp for the sub... Just got a car alarm to put in too, so I'll get on to that in a week or two.

Back on topic... well, I love Toyotas as every one I've owned has been a gem, so I'll keep my weird double oval thingie whatever the hell it may be! =)

Yeah, I think that's it. We also have common sense, which a lot of people don't.

Actually very well, again thanks for bringing me along to the sale, it was a really good deal! Took about 25 minutes to install both of them and they go really well, the highs can be a little harsh but for the price these are excellent speakers, decent bass too. I would have bought some more if I knew then what I knew now.

Ah that's good, did you wire the factory amp up to the line outputs from the head unit? I think your 3.0GT would use line inputs with the stereo it has? My V8 did when I tried a Song HD I had, but I liked the sound my factory unit had much better so wired it back in. Was a shame as it was quite a bit of mucking around with no results.

Only issue I had with my Soarers stereo is the sub woofer would be too bassy so I wired a potentiometer in one of the feeds to it from the amp so I can adjust its volume, got it just right so now it's much nicer on the ear, wish I did it months ago! :-)

It was a line level amp, yes, so I ripped it out allong with the satnav computer and re-wired direct from the head unit to each speaker. I'll get a mono amp or similar and just run the sub off it as the system is plenty loud and clear enough for me.

To my wife 'Lexus' means a classy car. Toyota is a run of the mill car to be avoided.

Therefore my Soarer is a Lexus at home and a Soarer everywhere else.
