Hi guys, I've noticed my Soarer has quite large panel gaps around where the bonnet meets the guards, and along the top of the passenger side door (can stick the tip of my index finger in here). I was wondering if this is normal for Soarers as they get older, or a sign of previous accident repairs? I once owned a 1990 Camry and the panel fit was excellent, I thought something like a Soarer would be up to the same standard if not better. This has me a bit worried.

You're right about it looking worse on a white car. The one im really worried about is the gap along the top of the passenger door (about 12mm) is roughly double that of the drivers side door. Its noticeable from inside the cabin too, where the door trim meets the dash is a large gap. Drivers side is fine though.

Yeah, that's the only thing i hate about my soarer being white, all the gaps are black.. My bonnet sat up high enough on one side for me to fit my whole middle finger down it..
Check your hinges have nothing spacing them up, if not get a mate to help you and loosen the hinge bolts, and you can adjust it.

I think the crappy camera phone photo makes the bonnet look a different colour to the guards. Ok so the gap on the passenger side is probably to do with the hinge, and the gaps around the bonnet look normal but worse on a white car. Now I can finally get some sleep at night, thanks guys.
