HAHA nice one Perry. My effort wasn't to bad considering I didn't exactly know what to expect so I reckon I could probably get it down to that with more practice NOT THAT I WANT ANY MORE
My next step is changing the interior green lights to the blue leds.
And putting my stereo back in... Took one place in Newcastle 6 weeks to find there was no fault with my dvd player, sent it to pioneer oh look 5 days and I had it back and it was a blown fuse in the RCA section...
Funny thing was I told them to look in the RCA part haha don't listen to the customer they couldn't drive a stick up the wall

i'm still too afraid to put the buggers in the oven... how hot and how long again?
by the way, i had condensation in mine for a good year before i figured out where it was getting in.
turns out the socket where my indicator bulb screws in is a real loose fit (perhaps im missing a seal or something). i decided it was this because the light already had some mastic (black tar stuff) around the socket. i took off all the mastic, and then reapplied it evenly all the way round the bulb socket and clicked it back in and the problem was solved.

Set the oven to 90 - 100 degrees and whack them in for about 10 mins. Start carefully prying. When the goo goes hard, whack them in for another 3 - 4 mins and off you go again.

Mastic, cost like $3 for a tube. My old man got some through a window mob i believe. But don't use silicon, mastic will heat up again and be re-split again. It's similar stuff to what you will see when you split.
One thing i regret not doing is painting the silver part on the lights. Can't be bothered pulling apart again lol

I did mine a few weeks ago and they leaked then I redid them, I spent ages making sure they were sealed perfectly and they still leaked so I cried. Now i will probably try to get a rubber seal of some sort to prevent any water getting in a small gap I have between the headlight and the front bumper. fingers crossed!

Adam did you remove all the excess goo that was in there 1st? I used a heat gun and a screw driver and went round bit by bit scraping it all out. And when I put the mastic in I made sure that there was plenty of excess, I also let them cure over night/day before I put them back in. It's been pissing down rain here since Saturday night and mine haven't leaked so YAY

I cleaned most of it out then I heated it up a little to re-bond what was left of the old glue. I then sealed it with new glue let it set then i came back filled in any tiny gaps and let that set then did it again. They shouldn't leak through the seals i made sure the seals were right i als put it in the joints too

Adam get rid of the old glue. I think that's where your problem lays. A tube of mastic cost me $3 and I used about 1/3 of it to do the pair. Mine had a lot of in the seal and that's where my water was getting in. It's the little things that cause the biggest problems and short cutting doesn't always help.

yea ill do that i got most of the old glue out but used the leftover to reseal it, i also used mastic to seal the rest including where the old glue was, it shouldn't leak but i will give that a try next weekend. thanks
