Hi guys. I noticed over the weekend that the black strip on the bottom of the front bumper has a nice big crack in it. Are they usually sold together with the actual bumper or can you get them on their own? Anyone have pics on how they will look removed?

these can be seperated with screw's/bolts underneath attaching it to your bumper. pretty easy to take off just alot of bolts. but you can get these seperate but genuine ones are usually pretty pricey some places you are better off trying to find a good second hand example.

depends on where you find them.. but i would recommend finding another one ben as you will have alot of holes at the front of your bumper if you leave it off and will look tacky

Yeah I have been looking for an aftermarket lip for sooo long and finally found one.. Try the wreckers - I have seen the rubber OEM ones there but that was not what I was after. They were all around $100-$150...Good luck

Would this be a 97+ front bar with "VT Style" Front Lip (as on the carmate site), and looks like vertex side skirts? Looks pretty good to me ... as an alternative to the same vertex look everyone has.

Nah I dont think it is. That pic was off the front lip section on the carmate site, so I doubt they would advertise their lip by showing the Auto Couture front bar.
This is the Auto Couture kit and you can tell the noticeable differences. It looks very similar though.
I love the look of the Auto Couture kit, but its way to expensive to get the genuine. I think the next best thing is to add a lip to a 97+ front.
I realise that the pic on the Luxury Mods site is identical to the carmate one, but I've read from another post that carmate's version does not fit the 97+ front bar. I've messaged Masato to see if he could possibly get one in and awaiting his response. Curious if anyone else has got this lip?

The last time I dealt with carmate they screwed me around and never want to hear about them again.
Also Gregg had ordered one of these for his 97 bar, apparently it was shorter and meant for the older bars, also looked nothing like the one pictured. It had a weird long front beak from what I saw at the panel shop.

I have a brand new 97 bar (still in the box) I spoke to the carmate guys yesterday & told them there was some very negative comment about there stuff. They invited me to come out (with the bar) & try fitment before I buy. Also meant a discount (on shipping) Joshua the Adrenaline rear lip you have posted is really nice (specially where it meets the wheel arch) Can anyone comment on fitment of this lip? Also a few more pics would be great there is only 1 on there site

Carl, I have asked Gregg Holden about this lip as he seems to be the only person who has bought the lip off carmate and attempted to put it onto a 97+ front. What he told me was the lip from carmate is suited for the pre 97 front bumpers (even though the pic on the site shows a 97+ front bumper). It took a considerable amount of time and money to get the lip to fit onto his 97+ front bumper and in the end was simply not worth it.
I have looked around for a lip for my car, and what I've gathered is that you really need to get a lip thats been molded for the 97+ front. Unfortunately, I cannot find anywhere in Australia to get this. The LuxuryMods.com people have a 97+ Vertex lip, but the total cost of the lip and shipping works out to be about $800 AUD. I have also asked Masato Haro who imports Vertex kits if he could get his hands on the lip for me, he said he can for about $600 landed in Aus.
As you can see, its not cheap at all for just a lip. I'm still thinking about it though, as the lip with a full vertex kit looks very clean and different to any other soarer you would see on the street.

Can anyone comment on the differences between a 96 front bar & 97...is there any difference at all??? I'm working on something that may help us all out.
Pics would really help!
Cheers

Gentleman, I have had a lip based loosely around the Auto Couture/vertex lip moulded directy from my brand new 97 bar...it was expensive to have the mould done but now that it is anyone with late 96 (ie with a centre grill) or 97+ bars stay posted pics in a week or so
Scott, I was quoted about $1800 for this kit fitted and painted at Altapac (Kotara, NSW) less than 12 months ago. That site is asking $1770 USD just for the kit. Shop around, hey.
