Hi everyone, as the title says, I;m wandering if anyone out there has bought and fitted the Origin labs Body kit for Soarers, and what sort of problems, if any, they had with the fitting of it?

I'm very interested in this kit, but I wouldn't like to think that I'd gone to the expense of shipping one over here to WA from D1Garage in SA only to realise that I would have to spend even more money just to get the bastard to fit right.

So any comments on personal experience with this kit, or even if there are any retailers in WA who supply it, Would be much appreciated guys :-)

You're going to have issues with the fitting of the kit, if you're a picky bastard like myself.

I have this kit on my car and it required a bit of work to get it to sit nicely. Even now, it's still not perfect. (gap underneath headlight, stress marks appearing, etc.)

Definitely worth the money mate.

Here's a picture of my Soarer with the kit on, which was taken at the last cruise. Mind you, you can't see the stress marks or the gap underneath the headlight (which is on the driver's side) in this picture.

Overall a great looking kit, however if you're after true quality, nothing can beat the genuine thing.

Why not look at getting a proper Vertex kit mate?

I'll be getting my kit from them sometime down the track.

Oh, just something else I thought I'd mention. I had someone else who purchased this kit email me, asking me if I was experiencing the major fitting issues that he was having. It sounded like he was having a lot more trouble than I did with the fitment of the front bar.

Maybe the body of his Soarer wasn't perfect? I don't know. Mine looks great now though I gotta admit.

The Vertex kit is nice, but i feel like the Origin one looks more classy, the wider openings and lack of fog lights give a bit of elegance and functionality to it.

Looks damn sexy to boot, nice car Vinh! how large a gap is there under the head light? and are the defects very noticable?

I agree with you on that one Mat. What I'd like to do is possibly modify the Vertex to look like an Origin? But then I'd be messing around with the structure of it.. AH there must be a solution out there.

Anyway - I'll take some pictures for you later mate. As for the stress marks - I had my front bar resprayed due to me being an idiot and cracking it in several places. It has now been completely reinforced and the stress marks have been smoothened. Cost a pretty penny too, it did.

Yeah, that's where the problem stems for me, I'm on a tight budget with what i can afford to spend on my car, and If it's going to extend a long way past purchase price of the kit and spray costs, then I'm going to have to wait a while longer.

Hey Aaron, I haven't been to Wollongong since the last SC cruise. You may have seen my 'twin', Eldin. He drives a V8 with the same colour scheme!

Thanks for the comments anyway mate :-)

At the end of the day Matty, most kits you buy are gonna need a lil extra spent on them to make them fit, that is unless of course you fork out the extra money to buy an original direct from the manufacturer.
