All the links are dead in the other forum posts and everyone i know seems to have lost their schematics..
i got 99 soarer tails for my 91 soarer but i need the control module so it wont give me angry klingon writing on my dash...
and a resistor module would be handy too i believe?

who has the schematics i bet all u guys made your own!

theres a toyota part number for the one i need, id love it if someone could post that.. i cant find one at a wrecker ANYWHERE.. but i can order it thru my JDM dealer here...
which would save me making one..

but i need both options..

someone help a canucklehead out? i just want my sexy tails :-(

yes that should do brilliantly for the fast flashing.. but, for the error messages on the dash? i remember from a post somewhere that theres a module for the trunk that needs replacing..its several hundred dollars from toyota or something ridiculous.. someone else was making or selling them or modifying them..

a gentleman who unfortunately is no longer with us.. i forget what his name is, too new here to have known him...

my tails are 97+ so im expecting angry klingon writing on my dash, as well as fast blinkers... i had thought they were separate issues to address..

I think the last post in that thread covers it.

The error module ONLY detects a low current condition (i.e. Less globes/poor contacts) not an over current condition in the brake and tail globes (not the reversing or indicator globes).

umm question.. are we sure its a BI-POLAR capacitor? just wondering since i bought the ones that he listed as the JAYCAR MODEL NUMBER RY6808.. but, in the instructions he says "be sure to watch the polarity..."

Bi-Polar capacitors have no polarity... it wouldnt matter which way it went in...

also the electronics distributors here say the BI POLAR type is rare, it was hard as hell for me to find some in stock.. but the same version with polarity was common.

the BI polar kind is to handle AC or DC.. whereas the non Bipolar handle DC only..

the capacitors i got have a wire coming out of each end.. designed for horizontal installation.

the one in the photo appear to have both wires sticking out one end.

i dont THINK im being stupid.... but its possible,.

Mike it would appear that the Jaycar number I have quoted is for a pi-polar - and is not the correct part. The Maplin part number is correct.

You need Radial mount not Axial mount.

The correct capacitor and is polarity line can be seen in the tutorial.

oh lol.. a friend in australia went to jaycar and got me the radial version of the capacitor from the part number...
the bipolar one.

he's posting them to me.

lol..

so, its totally the wrong part and wont work will it? the bi-polar one is not a substitute for the regular one?

ill have to take it apart and copy it off the unit itself.. as soon as the car is back on the road from its headlight upgrade.

i wasnt sure if the bipolar ones are simply non polarity, like will work either way, because theyre for AC and DC.. so should be interchangeable with the polarized version?

or, if its totally not the right part..

whatever, just thinking it out, i'll get the right bit of course when i go to do it.

thanks guys. the 99 tails are so gorgeous theyre worth the angry klingon writing for now ;)
