Wheels look good....but hoonestly would look 10 times better with less air between them and the body!

Oh dear... a nasty el-cheapo single cannon exhaust... You should have done a dual system mate, with proper oval mufflers like factory, but straight through - Not 'tomato can' ones commonly found on ricer Hondas and so on. They really don't work on Soarers....

But hey your car though, what ever tickles ya fancy!

Josh, don't mean to be a downer, but something doesnt look right (apart from the single exhaust thing). Hey man, i know what you can do to make the car look 100% better at no cost to you..get rid of the damn pine tree hanging off the rear view mirror :-) then next time rego comes up whack your sticker on the left side rear window. SWEET!

Haha,
The air freshener is gone lol,
I put a dash mount one haha,
Yeah, I like the look of a single exhaust,
And I have just ordered a vertex kit with a single exhaust hole,
And the wheels are 18"
And it's going on it's balls haha,
Looking at getting that done this week.
After the front end gets fixed up, A 4WD rolled back onto me at a set of lights on a hill.
So after that, All good.

I hate canon exhausts. They are the biggest "look at me! look at me!" wanker accessory on the market and do nothing other than needlessly create noise pollution in already noisy cities & suburbs. They should be illegal.

Nice wheels though.

Exactly, pretty much every time I see a 'modified' (More like ruined) car out there with a wanky cannon 'exhaust' - I always think that If I operated vehicle testing station, I would not allow inspectors to pass them as a fit vehicle - because they as you say Matt, they are just noise polluting devices that barely 'muffle' the engine and at the end of the day totally unnecessary. For example, why put one on a bottom range Honda Civic - to devalue it or something?

They are quite simply no more than a bad sound and just look horrendously tacky (especially on angles - what the hell is all that about?!)

They definitely should be illegal - Id say that will happen over the coming years too.

Oh and Dave - HAHAHA

DING!

Love your work Mike. I can agree, I too hate cannons and they shouldn't be allowed on Soarers. Leave 'em to the boy racers with their Civics and Charades!

Nothing looks better on a Soarer than a dual system with nice oval mufflers and tips... sounds fantastic too!

C'mon precious, ease up.

I like the look of them in some applications and not in others. Depends on what the owner is going for.

I did not put them on my car(s) as I think they do draw the crabs due to the over use by ricers and wanna be boy racers. They kinda identify a certain demographic...

Now you cant tell me that this would look better with dual exhausts. Sometimes a single system looks better than a dual. Take a Skyline for instance they look FU@%#N great with a huge single. yet chuck a twin system on and they look awfull

Hmmmm, drift spec cars just don't really appeal to my tastes. Not my sorta thing I have to admit...... But yeah they do suit the single exhaust with that JDM style going on - especially with a kit. :-)

But Drew, what you need to realize here we are not bagging single compared to dual exhaust - its the muffler choice. We are saying we dont like cannon style exhausts, the tubular ones with an angle cut tip and the like....... Actually thinking about it these are really slightly bigger resonators when you think about it, not actual mufflers.. Hmmm

Proper mufflers I like and use are the oval/rectangular types that come in offset/offset, center/offset layouts etc...... That have a decent sized chamber to give suitable sound muffling as well as a distinct deep tone like Lukeys give for example. Plus they look better from the rear by a mile! Single or dual!

I think Skylines that were made with a single exhaust look awesome with a nice big quality Japanese tuner oval turbo muffler. Very JDM! But with a cannon on an angle not at all......... unless it's a very expensive large Apexi type cannon muffler which look decent perhaps.... but 95% of the cars with these mufflers have the el cheapo $99 from Ebay that are recycled junk essentially and don't look good in any aspect.

I think it would look better without the stupid wing, stretched tyres, ugly chromes, silly graphics and excessively flared body kit. Track cars are a breed of their own though, and rarely look anything other than overcooked.

Basically I'm ultra conservative I guess =)

I agree and dis-agree with these comment's,The "CANNON" muffler/resinator looks real good with body kits(This is what Josh is doing)..Not too keen on the stock look with them..Unfortunetly the feds don't like them(And agree also very noisy) and it will be very hard not to be pulled over and get the once over...With a nice sticker on the window.

Agree on the noise factor,Too much I say but that's up to the person that puts it on.It's a normal mod'ng path that most young people choose and don't think about comfort but more for looks.
Cruising down the freeway on 3000rpm with one of those is too drony..But on the other hand you open it up and mate It sounds great....So some how you have to balance the two....I chose two 3inch resinators,Keeps the stock look and has that punch/Great note when you open it up.

Everyone has there own style(This is what makes us unique) and shouldn't be judged on it.....It's ok to boist your opinion but don't think it's a good idea to bring them down for it.Not saying we are just think about it before you comment...I too ain't a saint but it isn't needed and will only move them away from the forum and this is not what the forum is about.

Can't wait to see progress Josh! looking forward to it.

Hahaha that's pretty much what I thought as soon as I saw that drift Spec car.........

Mmmmm, conservative I think is a good word to describe our tastes in car styling. Specifically keeping them original and what the designers in-visioned them to be like....

Good points there Jeff, but its not a matter of bringing who ever down, its just criticism, and I think the forum needs more of it - far too many bad/ugly/tacky soarers on there as of lately and everyone takes a 'PC' attitude when commenting saying ooo 'that look nice' etc when they are not nice at all - Ive seen so many Soarer/Celsior I cringe at over the last few months here on the forum - I don't think this is what Soarer Central is about its quite sad really but I guess not much you can do about it.

i dont mind cannons aslong as they arent the showpiece of the rear of your car.. if you get the right size and angle them right they look nice..... i love the twin look on soarers, are you getting a genuine vertex kit?

IMO every exterior mod should compliment the car, whatever car it is. People should look and say "That's a nice car" not "That's a nice exhaust"

Personally I think Soarers look better with two tail pipes after all they were designed like that to begin with.
BUT.. different strokes for different blokes

Also, Ben - is is legal to have your rego sticker on your side rear window?

Talk about harsh!.

Don't worry Josh, I think it looks better than the car in his profile.

It would be a pretty boring forum if all of the cars were the same.
If your going for the single outlet on the Vertex kit it should look good. It will be interesting to see the finished product.
Be careful putting the rego label on the rear window as it can take the window tint with it when you swap it over. Where you have it now is also blocking one of the sensors for the climate control I think.

Agree this is what I ment by my above post....Why be the same....
I have made some judgments in the past and realise my taste's and someone else's taste's are to be respected...
Anyway this is becoming a debate and it isn't my thread....

mikes profile... "Soarers with 'pod filters' they are appaling excusses for modifications, cannon exhausts - a total waste of time. Chrome wheels and excessively large wheels with bad offsets, nasty non original paint jobs - that includes decals."

so in other words you think my car looks crap lol

people do what they think will look good for themselves.. yes there are some ugly cars out there but cause you put a canon muffler or a pod on your car doesnt make it crap. its the rest of the car that goes with it that makes it all look crap.
