I'm due to wash my car again but the cbf factor is as high as ever, is it worth my while buying a cheap buffer and some pads from Super Cheap for the job?
I've done it by hand about 3-4 times now and seem to think I'd do a better job with a buffer than by hand?

When i was young i tried to polish dads car using a buffer, i managed to get more polish splattered on the walls and my self that on the paint. but come to think of it i was using an angle grinder with a sheepskin polishing pad. That may have been the problem.
Orbital buffer works a treat when applied properly. The cheap one from Supercheap will do the job fine - IMHO better than by hand. And it's a damn sight easier. You can then do the Meguiars' four step - clay bar, paint cleaner, polish, wax - in 2 hours instead of 6-odd.

Clay bar?
How do you wash the things you use to apply wax/polish etc? I have tried washing applicators by soaking in warm water and running through the washing machine on a warm load (with no soap) and no luck.
