Does anyone know where to buy dry ice? I am in the Hunter Valley and keep drawing a blank. I want to remove the sound deadening from the track car.

I have tried fishing shops, camping shops, etc.

I cant find a local BOC or any other gas supplier, and no one I speak to knows where to find some.

There's a company called Thermoelectron that does all sorts of crazy sh!t. I don't know if they actually sell dry ice, but they sure do have heaps of it.

Thanks guys.

I had a crack at it yesterday with, um, wet ice(frozen water). Worked OK, but with the obvious mess that comes with melting ice.

I may try chasing down some of the leads above on Tuesday.

I am having trouble picturing a kilo of dry ice. A kilo of water is a litre at room temp, and larger when frozen. What volume is a kilo(or 12!) of dry ice?

Dunno Ben, we get it in both pellet and slice form. although the volumetric weight of 12 kgs of dry ice is approx 6.5Kgs
