| It's a one-off - What do you think... (Yes this is the photochopped version - the actual one should be ready to be picked up before christmas)...

Will have to see real pics before judging. That photoshop looks more like MS Paint.

Too extravagant for the smooth lines of a soarer. Grill is ok, bottom middle section looks out of place. My opinion.

I've been thinking about customising my front bumper as well. I've got some ideas. Greg, I think that front makes the soarer aggressive. The real deal would be interesting though!

I like it Gregg, but I don't think it suits the body of the Soarer.

I agree with Vinh, its a nice design, but for a saloon, not a coupe.

I'll be very interested to see the final product. I'll reserve judgement till then but I'm leaning towards liking it.

I think it could work, also depends on the colour of the car its being put on. Reminds me of a late model BMW front. Was that the inspiration for it?

Change the design of the grill, Gregg! I reckon make the slats horizontal. >.> Is this to go with what you have been trying to do in the engine bay?

I like it ! Nice and modern facelift to an aging car. But i agree with Callum, that grill should be horizontal. It looks very american doesnt it? Cant wait to see the real thing. Im assuming its a hacked up late model front bar ?

| Some mixed comments which is to be expected. I'll be interested myself to see how it looks real life! It may not work out but it will be interesting none the less... Callum I tried an east/west grill initially but it didn't look right and more importantly a donor Lexus grill with an east-west was too big. The one that I have is an actual Lexus grill which was an update option for one of the models which I now forget.. Any yes, given the car will have a 5.2l (once the stroker block gets rebuilt) and twin-screw charger setup I thought it was worthy of a slightly more aggressive facelift. James the Lexus badge is embedded in the donor grill..I know some don't like the rebadge but it ties in with my seats and throw cushions I had done a long time ago which have the embroided Lexus logos... Kyle, no the inspiration wasn't from BMW...believe it or not the cues for the intake areas were from a Ferrari Enzo but with a softer flow. I think it's subtly different enough not to attempt to look like one!! LOL. The initial colour is as follows. This is the current colour of my car and the bonnet is carbon fibre with two reverse scoops and is already painted like this (As Callum knows because he hates it! ):
At some stage though I wouldn't mind taking it to the darker paint as per the first pic. A sort of candy dark bronze. But any candy paint is big $$$ so that will have to wait for another year in the never ending build... |

Hmm I dont dislike it but I feel it needs to be less obtuse. Thinking about that theres quite a lot you can do with the soarer front, Id always been interested in a Jag XK front or Aston DB7/Vantage front end on my soarer.... Hmmm.

I think it has potential Greg! I like the way it makes the front look less streched, a humped bonnet and a flat nose makes it look like a muscle car. I reckon try a cardboard mock up, see what it looks like! I would keep it clean, nice lines, stock look, no wanky bits, but thats me. look forward to seing more

I think with the integrated high/low beams it will stand out. The only thing I would change is to have the top of the centre opening NOT level with the top of the side openings, so it looks a little more OEM and not so 'I joined two different bas together'. I don't think it would have to be more than a few cms difference to change the look.
