hey guys, got this link off a mate and its from a company called euro-paint offering a full re-spray for $599, what do u reckon? has any one had any experience with this company before? well considering the next cheapest quote i've gotten is around $2600.. plus the fact that it cost more than $599 to have a body kit painted.. $599 for a full spray sounds a bit dodge.. anyways have a look and tell me what you think

wow that IS cheap.

Wonder what sorts of "quality paints" they are using. Prob wouldnt be too bad if you just got a same colour outside only (i.e no inside trims etc) respray AND if you planned on selling the car shortly afterwards haha.

But that price may just be some introductory price which suits minis only or whatever. Call em up and ask mate /.

*POSSIBLY* like what maaco do in the US. They have their ups and downs. Of course, they (maaco) do no prep and they will spray straight over whatever you drive up with, but their painters are spraying all day every day, so some know how to shoot paint. Guys have gotten decent jobs from maaco by doing their own prep, paying a little extra for decent paint etc.

yeh that what i was thinking.. they probably expect you to do your own prep work, there has to be some sort of catch to it anyway i'll call these guys some time next week and try find out more about how this whole deal works.

Exactly!

It would be a rubbish paint job in my opinion.

The factory one would be 100x the quality.

Just save up and spend 3-4k on a good one.

As Mile's said they will simply just spray over what ever you turn up with.

So you will have to do all the prep work and get it 100% straight before handing the car over to them

If the prep work is bad/slightly off the paint will also turn out bad. So make sure you know what your doing.

Hi Guy's,
My 2 cents worth is this, $599 is a starting price and each dent crack and hour of preparation is extra. They're specialists, they have a fully trained staff and look like the real deal however I would want to see some before and after jobs along with their cost. There should be fully representative examples in their shop all the time. As we all know it's not the paint nor the time it takes to spray paint a car that makes it expensive. someone nearby should take a look??
cheers

How can you justify paying 3or 4 grand for a paint job when Soarers are selling on the side of the road for $4,000. I am already kicking myself for replacing my body kit with standard bars, replacing the headlights, and replacing the faulty ECU. All up with the new paintwork on the bars and parts I spent $2,000. Could have thrown a bit more money and a got a spare car.

Hi Gary,
I understand where you are coming from, it makes no financial sense BUT if it was just transport we wanted we would all be driving Daewoo's.
It is all about the experience and pleasure we derive from these cars and the need to fulfill that desire.
In my case I get to experience a UZZ32 which I have been informed probably originally cost around 150k with all the nobs and whistles. I paid $4750 and have spent $9000 inc suspension rebuild and will probably spend another $5000 to get it close to new. AND another UZZ32 is on the agenda for a spares in the near future. I have since discovered that quite a number of UZZ32 owners have 2 working cars. I know I would be lucky to get $5000 If I had to sell it. But it's not about that. Its about MY pleasure and I get to experience a $150k car that now drives nearly as new for less than $20k.
Our cars are thoroughbreds (although the European Marques might consider us as upstart brumbys - I think my 32 pisses all over a 928
in so many areas) and they deserve to be treated as such.

If I owned a car yard Id be making a tidy profit down bayswater way :-)

Imagine all the heaps from Japan that have mint interiors but munted exteriors from sitting outsidfe in the yards.

Or that faded but otherwise mint Falcodore that grandpa says you can have for $100.00 or his superannuation, whichever is greater.

Good way to get the business....

i went to this place today to get a free quote

i guess if you just want a spray over its cheap, but they do seem to be able to do a proper job. they rub everything back, take out dints etc

some of the things seem a bit overpriced... but then i know nothing about the industry or how much anything should cost

but theres a rough idea for anyone thinking of going there.

looks like a good place. real clean unlike some others ive seen.

the guy i spoke to seemed real nice too

I know this is an old thread, but these guys are still going, check out their facebook page, there is some photo's of the work.

I am thinking after I get my new kit I'll get them to fit the kit, and take some dents out while they are at it.

There prices are about $799-$899 now, for a basic respray, not sure if that involves rubbing back or not.

I know it won't be a 4k paint job, but theres no point spending 4k on a 6k car.

I'll speak to them an update here.

Has anyone had their car sprayed by these guys?

I spoke to Bayside Auto Styling (VIC).

They gave me an estimate on the following

Fit and Paint a fibreglass body kit (F/R/SS)
Fit 2x new door hinges
Fix a dozen dings
Rub back
Spray in original colour including door jambs, but not including engine etc.

for $3000.

Pretty good I reckon. I already have brand new rims so with the cost of the new bodykit, I'll have a brand new looking Soarer for $3600.
