last months when i sit in my friend's toyota Echo white colour body with carbon fiber black bonnet in Melbourne city cruise at night time and one police pull our Echo over and check my friend license and also check the engine, the police also check the carbon fiber bonnet as well, but he only inspection the hole (vent? is that what u call?) the hole got mesh with it, so then the police let us go without any problem. What i am try to tell here is carbon or Fibreglass bonnet legal? or as long as the hole (vent) on the bonnet got mesh cover it and should be ok? i think i should ask that police officer is ok to have carbon fiber bonnet or not.
Section 14 doesnt say that the scoop or reverse concave vents are illegal, but kind of greys it by saying that it must not present the potential to cause injury to the driver or pedesdtrians.
I guess it depends on the cop on the day. he might say "sorry mate, if you sprung an oil/trans/fuel leak it could spray onto the windscreen. OMG, is that snow/mud/ice? The weather is defective! Canaries for you mother nature biatch....
