Well the car didn't stay mint for long. You might have seen where I posted an image of the car with it's new bumpers and paintwork before Christmas. The wife and I stayed at the Hilton in Sydney a couple weeks ago and arrived in their carpark which is operated by premier parking. They take the car off you and park it somewhere that suits them. When we return the next morning and the car is delievred to us, it has a 30cm long scrape behind the R/H rear wheelarch which is showing as white (and the car is purple). The reason we noticed it was because the driver got out and glanced down at it straight away and then walked off. My wife and I both looked straight at it then as well. I reported it to the console guy, 3 guys then appeared and took photos while one rubbeed some compound on it and it faded away, but you could still feel the groove right through the paint. Said they would contact me, but didn't. 3 phone calls later over 10 days and they finally came back to me and denied having done the damage. I now have a letter stating they will not enter into any further correspondance and the matter is closed. I have rejected their letter and sent them another one, which I also copied to the Hilton, who replied within 10 minutes that they would look into it, but Premier Parking was a seperate entity. You have no hope with these arseholes becuause they just deny everything. I will now avoid all motels or carparks with valets involved.

Just make a claim on your comprehensive insurance (if you have it) and list the parking company as being at fault. Problem solved.

That absolutely sucks. And on a new paint job that most likely isn't easy to match up. I always worry about mechanics and the like taking my car out for a spin and breaking it. I guess this can serve as a warning to others that your car is really not safe when anyone but you is behind the wheel. Are you going to fight them for compo or just not worry about it? You may as well go down to the valet office and go a bit psycho on them you really have nothing to lose. just my 2 cents

I am not going to make a claim as the excess is going to be too high. No choice but to walk away from it. I won't publicaly post what I would like to do on my next visit to Sydney just in case I have a couple of Bourbons and do it! Not really the Hiltons fault but I have done a guilt trip on them anyway. I would be very surprised if Premer Parking have ever paid a claim. No witnesses and most people wouldn't even see any damage until they got home. We were right on the spot and didn't even get in the car and they still cry innocent. The only safe way to park in one of these places would be to photograph the entire car and do a walk around with the supervisor of the carpark. What a joke. Since I have owned the car no onther person except the guy doing the annual rego check has driven it, up until 2 weeks ago when this $5 an hour brain surgeon got in it.

Put a claim form in anyway, listing the valet company as the at fault party and your wife as witness. The insurance company will follow it thru. Don't get the car repaired until the valet has admitted fault (insurance legal threats will make them cave) and you won't have any excess or loss of discount. Simple!

For problems of color match, seeing how it was JUST redone being in the industry myself should be easy and should be able to be done as a butt match. No blending into adjacent panels.
If doing a custome color like i did for myself on my soarer, making note of a quart mixture of everything you put in to make and how much of what. As well with air pressure distance what type of gun used blah blah blah, because each thing effects the other and in turn can effect the color
