Well, picked these up from an importer in ringwood for nix. They were a bit fugly, and have no centre caps but I got em garnet blasted and polyurethane coated: Yes, as opposed to going the traditional powder coating route, I found this awesome urethane stuff that they use for mine sites; its as glossy or as matte as you like, comes in as many colours as powder, doesnt chip, is cheaper, and has just enough 'flex' to let stones and other crap bounce off rather than chip off.

Total cost: A six pack of melbournes for stripping the tyres off, and $260 for blasting, epoxy priming, and color coating
(seems the tough economic climate has made a lot of these mine site engineering places look a bit harder for any work: Speaking to the guy whos family owns this particular engineering firm, he mentioned that whilst they normally have 14-18months of work booked, they are down to 6 weeks with no incoming work on the horizon quite sad really. Refurbish your rims. Support the Aussie economy
Some thing a little bit er... "Michael Jackson" about them though....*hide yo' kiiiids*

That polyurethane coating, is that the clear coat or is it mixed in with the paint itself?
There is only one top coat of colour, no clear over base, or clear coat if thats what you mean. The gloss is probly a bit overstated with the flash on the camera, but they are still very bloody glossy white on the car. The expoxy primer is pretty amazing, goes on etremely flat considering its on a garnet blasted surface with no smoothing. Could be the reason for the great finish.
$260, I couldn't be happier. Pity there arent more mining support industries down south eh?
