one thing ive noticed with soarers is the rear bumper section on them is always a slightly different shade to the rest of the car, any reason for this? You can notice mine is a slightly darker silver the the rest of the car.
Is it because its plastic as apposed to metal on the rest of the car?

One would say that, however the metal section on my boot is equally as brilliant as the plastic section below it when compared to the rest of the car.
I would figure it would have something to do with less debris from the road being swept up when driving is able to hit the back? Whereas its easy to hit the sides and front of the car. I can never get a good enough look at the roof to compare that...

Looks great mate !
Yeh mine was the same (colour of rear bar) and ive seen a few other soarers where it is the case also. not really that obvious, just notice it sometimes in certain light.
I use McGuires "Canurbra Wax" (spelling?) as my 3rd and final coat.
ALL McGUIRES stuff
1 - Paint Cleaner 2 - Polish 3 - Canurbra Wax.
Takes a while but gives the best finish ive ever seen and lasts about 6 months. Oh and i use an electric polisher as it gets a bit of heat into the polishing process which helps.

its annoying to say the least, not hugely noticable, but its annoying when mates etc keep going on that your car has been crashed and resprayed lol,gets old real quick.
Anyway, some wax should make it shine a bit more.
Whats everyones recomendations? Ive used meguires carnubera wax and it worked very well.

I have similar problems with my 91 6m2 green 32. This car having spent from 1991 to 2003 in Japan (it was in mint condition then) and then until 2008 ungaraged in Sydney where it really suffered. So three cut an polishes in 9 months the last time I used some sort of surface finish with a wool buffer pad on the end of a drill and I am now see I am getting somewhere. Hopefully after another polish and buff it will look like some of the other Soarers here.

Scott I think all soarers have that slightly different shade on the bumpers, I know mine does but I've found with a good polish it blends in better with the rest of the body.

Get yourself a random orbital polisher. I got a little cheapy one for my birthday (was $100 on sale including a whole pile of Mothers stuff) and its great.

very nice looking silver soarer. As for the bumpers being a different colour its due to the bumpers being made of plastic as to the rest of the body being metal. All cars have them. You will notice on newer cars they stand out a lot more.

thanks mate, yeah i thought as such, being a different material thought they would have different levels of brightness etc, plastic would in a way absorb a bit of the paint i believe.
If you catch it in the right lights its horrible, really stands out, had a few people tell me my cars been in an accident in its life because of the differnt coloured rear bar. Annoys the hell out of me haha}
