I have a heinous paint job on my car and I was wondering if anyone has a air compressor with a spray gun that I can borrow, or indeed pay to utilise, to spray paint my car. I can get the whole lot of paints, clear coat, etc, I just need an air compressor to use.
Anyone in Brissy that is.
Would compensate handsomely

dude, you's want a really good compressor and some serious water/moisture capturing stuff big time
Best bet: See if theres a spray booth you can hire at some paint shops somewhere: I mean we have places like that up here in NT, surely you gotta have a place in QLD that you can hire for a day: I mean then you have a good, ventilated dust free temp controlled baking oven (assuming you are shooting 2k).
Ring around man. I mean you need to have the whole car prepped (filled, etch primed/primed and rubbed before hand) but you can tape up on site and shoot basecoat and clear, then bake and possibly even cut on site too. Thats what the place up here allows. Just make sure you check and/or drain the shops compressor(s) before you start. Take a sheet of panel to practice on too, don;t get too much/too little overlap with the shops settings etc....
goods luck: If you were in NT id let you use my vented garage and v-triple belt drive

haha then i'll drive the ~3000km to get there Na my mate works for autobahn and he can get cheap paint and i rang up Kennards hire and he said that the spray gun and compressor is $90 a day.
That still leaves me without the garage and baking oven.
Is that baking oven essential? will it do without it?

no you dont need an oven , that is only to make it dry faster, buy fast hardner, will be tack free in 1 hour, and if you have never painted a car before i wouldnt start on a soarer.
all about Gun technique , go to fast and it will be sandy, go to slow, runs, sag, orange peel.

Hi,I lost and cannot find the link but there was a guy in Brisbane doing "credible" paint jobs for about a grand. He had a website hot gemini paint or something - someone here might know. I had a crack at a small patch on my bumper and decided I will let the experts finish it.

i sent the bloke an email On the website he said that he goes for around $700. I reckon if I get my own paint and do all the prep and hire a spray gun and compressor, it wouldn't be that expensive. Around 400 max, though it looks like he knows what his doing, and clearly i dont
