A fair few lads have these installed in their cars with various levels of success.
Some guy bought LHD (left hand drive) versions from US ebay and now their light pattern is not correct so it blinds oncoming traffic.
I think another guy had some problems with leaking/fogging pretty early on, but that may have been an one off case?
I think they CAN look good, but you need to choose carefully between the black ones or chrome ones. OH and buy a set dont stuff around with just the low beams as your highs will look out of place.
Keep us all posted how you go brother.
P.S - are you current lights a bit dodgy? Dont be afraid to polish them up using some AUTOSOL, BRASSO, PLAST-X or cut and polish.. it will tidy them really well. If they are fogged inside... then you will need to open them up and clean from the inside then re-seal. *search for the tutorial on that job*

the lights come with globes for everything including those 3 little ones on top. don't worry just buy them, the only thing you will regret is not buying them sooner. paid like $500 for high and low beams posted to darwin.
It makes the soarer look really updated and newer. I have seen a few with the black ones and it just looks....aftermarket and cheap. No offence to anyone with them...but unless your car is set-up like a drifter or something...I don't think they look as good.
Just my opinion. But the chrome ones I know look awesome.

Depends on the car colour Christian, personally I love the black ones and think the chrome ones look a little overdone.
To Dean,
Headlights are great mate, they make all the difference to the front of the car. They come with bulbs i put HID's for my low beams, and put LED's for the three bulbs accross the top and the main parker. They look awesome at night time with the halo's.

I'm thinking of getting a set of these soon as well, but can't decide on which type to get CHROME or BLACK? I think both look pretty good, I have a red soarer with black altezzas (profile pic) Decisions, decisions! What do you guys think?

Mine were the LHD version, I have converted them to RHD, have not had any problems with them. I probably would have stayed with the factory lights but mine were damaged so I needed to change and these were something different.

One of mine was rooted, so I made the change. Did the conversion to get a WOF but still had to get the alignment right.Low beams to high. Couldn't get enough downward adjustment on the drivers side. Had to reopen up rh light to make adjustment. Passed WOF.

yeah i had a few problems with the chrome ones getting through rego as the low beams reflect on the bottom of the light beaming up. i also have the black ones... i bought the black ones to get through rego and also to have an alternative to the chromes down the road.

hey dave i have the same tail lights as you and i recommend getting the black ones as long as you don't plan to get a carbon fibre hood, the black ones look a little dodge against the carbon. if you have the money get both you won't regret it.
Yes you will need to pull the headlights apart to get to the projectors.
In some cases projectors use a universal cut off shield (less in production costs I suppose) where you dismantle the projector to flip the shield around.

I'm quite interested in doing this as well. However like many I'm still unsure if to go with the chrome or black ones. I've got a dark green car so i'm leaning towards the black ones.
Anyone going some pics of their green soarer with either the chrome or black headlights installed?

I am also looking into getting the headlamp and high beam set in the chrome colour and have found that guy on ebay...but is that where everyone else got theirs? Nathan where did you get yours for $500? I have emailed the guy on ebay to see if he can do me a deal if I buy both (as he only has them listed separately).

I am going to buy some of these but i have to decide what color i am going to paint the car first. Was going to go with a orange with a red or yellow pearl but that combination is getting so common. But i do like the look of the chrome ones better

Got my new lights the other day...very happy with them, they fit well, bit of fiddling around to get them just right but nothing too time consuming. I'm glad I went with the chrome ones. The only down side is that now my fog lights look rubbish against the new lights. I have been looking for an aftermarket fog lamp for ages because one of mine is scuffed (from previous owner) and it's just something that has always bothered me but it appears there is nothing on the market. I would be VERY happy to see a matching fog light come out to complete the set...also have a set of the smoke coloured tail lights coming too...see how that goes!!

Yes yes I have thought about putting a kit on it but if I was going to, it would be a genuine Japanese one, not one of those Chinese copies off ebay for $500 that don't fit properly...so yeah...they're pretty expensive and a bit out of my current budget but yeah...in the future...
