wax and grease remover- Prepsol.

or go to super cheap and buy a caramel wheel and put it in the end of a drill. They are designed to take that stuff off as well as double sided tape.

thats probably what it is,is it that grey looking poo?

yes is is the chunky grey poo that is like double sided tape but it seems alot tougher.

wax and grease doesnt seem to do much :/ i've tried a heap of other similar stuff.

i'll give the caramel wheel a try. although i hope it doesnt screw the chrome underneath. might have to try on a little patch first. and mask up the paint area around it i think

Matthew, get a product called 'desolve' (or something similar... can't recall exactly). You'll know it when you find it as it's got a bright pink sticker on it. Should be able to get it at Repco/Supercheap or even some paint stores. Let it soak in for a few minutes then just use your fingernail to remove the gunk that has come lose, then repeat (a number of times). If you don't remove the gunk between stages it seems to take forever as the glue/foam keeps consuming the stuff. Wash with plenty of water and car wash afterwards.

caramel wheel is a rubber compound i have used it for 15 years it is DESIGNED for that . wont harm your paint however if your silly enough to hold it in the same spot pressing firmly on it it will no doubt burn through the paint.and chrome is no probs.

Prepsol works as well, your just not rubbing hard enough.soak it a bit

desolve is the same as prepsol. Same product just a different name.

We have about 4 different types of prepsol's at work just same are weaker then others or have citrus in it.

Prepsol does work you just have to give it time to work. You just have to let it soak in thats all.
