looks good, I thought spraying without a clear coat would usually make it quite dull?

From what i know, spraying without a clear its not a problem as long as you care for your paintjob. But if you let it go and dont wash/polish/wax and keep it clean the paint will go chalky. Also if you spray a clear over the top, the clear breaks down a lot faster than a normal coat.
Thats what i thought anyways, this was my first time actually painting a car.

If theres a spray painter here chip in

WOW !

That is an awesome result mate, i love your commitment and ability!

Looks like quite a decent garage and array of tools also which would have no doubt helped. I look forward to checking this car out if and when you get it up and running and on the road.

Spray painter here, what i can see it looks ok , man you must have got some in the paint.hell i get in my work even in a booth! dam insects love 2 pak lol

you only need to put clear over base coat like mettalics, cause they dry flat then the clear brings up the gloss.cause it is a solid colour it isnt needed.cheaper to!

i'd recommend just cut it back with 2000 skip the 1200 unless you have heaps of in the paint.

when you buff it up you will probably find you will see buff marks ,3M have a great product out to remove them ,3M perfect it blue cream apply with a foam pad and polish it off.

yea I heard the best method when polishing was to start with a woolen buffer and finish with a foam pad buffer, just for the first polish anyway. The idea is that the woolen pad will take most imperfections out alot quicker and the foam pad will remove the tiny swirl marks left over.

Wool will burn your new paint job - go get a "special" soft foam pad from the place you got the paint.
