i finally got my cf bonnet put on today.
anyway there was a little bit of grinding to get it to fit anyway after we were done i noticed it was a little bit raised.
after hours of fiddling we came to the conclusion that the bonnet struts were to powerful for the cf bonnet, as in they provided to much lift for the lightweight of the cf.
either i can -

- remove the struts (really dont want to do this)
- get aftermarket struts (most likely option)
- or weigh the bonnet down (whats the point of cf)

so does anyone know if any companies make aftermarket struts for a soarer ??
or has someone had this problem before, and there is an easier solution ?

cheers heaps.

I had the same problem with mine, removed the struts, now I just carry a length of broom handle to prop the bonnet open.

Go to a strut regasser, they can reduce the pressure in the struts.

its known to be nearly as bad as asbestos, as the fibres are barped, so when you inhale them they hook within your lungs and there next ot impossible to get rid of.

Because of the body wanting to rid these comtaminants it will cause you to cough to get rid of them. Can become very bad if alot is injested and lung disease and infection can become of it.

So yeah not that bad

But yeah, good quality gas mask is a must

That Strut ReGas guy does the rams on the doors of my smoko truck.

He buys them from the here:

http://www.uesint.com/product/gas%20springs.php

His supplier, UES are on bennison street, Winellie, closer to you, and obviously cheaper than him :-)

The UES struts are made in Germany, pretty affordable and considering they open an 18kg door from vertical to horizontal at least 52 times a day, they do pretty well and need replacing only once every 18-24 months.

Their shop is on the same side as Lunch Heaven, about four doors down (outbound) on Bennison.

UES make craploads of gas springs in all sizes.
