Hey guys, I haven't been on lately due to family issues but they seem to be all sorted now. Last weekend I finally got around to cleaning my headlights. I really recommend anyone with a spare weekend to do this. I have no mechanical skill whatsoever (Lew can attest to this) but it was quite easy to do using the helpful information I found here (thanks to those who contributed). I also made some angel eyes up, which took a bit of work but I think it looks pretty cool. Pity I didn't take any before photos but man, what a difference.

Hey Bobby them angel eyes do look sick

I've done my lights a couple of weeks ago and they are so good I'm no longer driving by brail at night, living in the sticks with one street light every 1km don't help much at night lol.

Just a quick question for you, with the glass, did you pull it out? If so was the edge of the glass all broken and sh*t?? Mine was but they still went back in fine. Just out of couristy mate. Cheers

Oh bobby this is problem going to sound like a stupid question, but why have the front bar cut out and then place the number plate there anyways?? Other than that nice looking ride man :-) needs to be lowered a bit though.

Ah, the front bar is an Ab Flug one so it comes with a massive hole. It has a carbon fibre front spoiler but the intercooler I have used is so large that I had to remove it. I used to drive it around with the plate in my window but I got pulled over twice for it, both times narrowly escaping fines. So as the car is a daily driver, I put the plate in there. Here is another pic you can see there is still ample room for air to get to the cooler. In regards to the glass, do you mean the projector lens? If so, I didn't remove it, I just polished the outside and it came out really well.

Yeah the projector lens, don't konw what's the need for a number plate on the front of the car, they can't legally book you from infront anyways due to privacy reasons.

Well that's what I've been told about nsw.

bwhaha good on ya bloke lol, if you look closely around the projector lens you'll see another light around it?? The 3rd picture they are turned on, and the pic below it is a close up. I'm tempted to pull out my lights again and split them and put angel eyes in it, as well as spray the silver as mine isn't the best :-(

Angel eyes are the acrylic grooved rings that are around the low beams in the headlight which are illuminated with LEDs. They are available on some BMWs (much better looking than mine of course). I had the headlights apart for cleaning and I read here about how to make them so I gave it a try. It is more noticeable at night but its hard to take a decent photo of them at that time with my old digital.

Completely wrong. There are at least 3 speed cameras within 5km of my home which take front on pictures. Any such privacy laws have been modified or probably never existed in the first place.

Sorry for the hi-jack lol.... Well Simon remind me never to come to Wollongong :P I drive past one one the way to my gf's place and they say there is a speed camera there but there isn't any lines on the road unlike the otehr side of the road, and I've never (i'm touching wood about now) had a ticket and I still got all my points on my licence.

Legally you have to display your plates clearly front and rear, regardless of what speed cameras do. Further, because the camera snaps you only when you are allegedly committing an offence, privacy from the bureaucrat sending you the notice does not come into it. Take Simon's last option; such a law never existed.

Actually the law DID exist, at least in S.A. Frontal photos were deemed a breach of privacy as they could show up people that perhaps werent meant to be there. This law only got overturned a couple of years ago here, government needs their income now dont they!

Bobby, where did you get your AB Flug front bar? I like it (together with the front spoiler though).

Or, does anyone know where I can get AB Flug?

Saw my first car with angel eyes Friday. They were on a BMW but I'm wondering if they are just cosmetic or are they something BMW is using as side/dim lights?
