| I can't imagine venturing onto the roads without club membership. Im with RACV roadside care, but they dont do accident towing, only breakdowns, and I wouldnt have even been able to tell them where to come, I was lucky that a passing petrol tanker came by who radio'd the towie. Yeah, spill it. PS - I'm gutted, your car is sexy as... Was it a •••• night before this? or was this what made it ••••• I had a night and was pissed off, I normally go out driving to get things off my mind and I went where I normally do. Pissing down with rain, Im taking this huge bend REALLY carefully, but the back end decided it didnt want to grip (ill show you why in a sec) did a few 360s then plowed into a rockface and got stuck. No phone reception, tried calling 112 but it kept cutting out. Might get a Vertex kit done while Im at it, found a place that can supply full kit for $650, am chasing that up tomorrow. Thanks so much for the offers of help, rims will be checked out tomorrow as Bob Jane were booked up for today. When I removed my rear right wheel to replace up at the front I noticed the tyre.
Took it back to bob jane who do my wheel alignments and he said its because of the IRS, rofl is he bullshitting me or what. Anyways, thanks for the offers guys, Ill let you know! And Morgan, I might let you sit in my champagne animal once its back |

| Looking at the tyre, no wonder you did 360's... Lucky for you that you didn't hit anyone else, or else your insurance company woudln't cover you either. I guess there is always a plus side to these situations. Let us know how everything goes, possible a progress thread of some kind. With pics-a-plenty. Cheers. Morgan. |

| i think he is right about the IRS . my old man got a vs ute and put new tyres and rubber on ,and within 6 months the tyres where like yours, probably worse. he took it back and said it needs some suspension kit for it,nice of them to tell him after they are and not before he got new tyres on it .i have never heard of this before . |

| By the looks of that install, you get what you pay for robby, All you've got to do now Ryan is get something to trim your fuel so your exhaust tip doesn't get covered in black muck |

| ryan, so does that mean the tyres will wear the same as the others?eg; bald on the inside pretty expensive exercise if they keep wearing,or is the IRS problem fixed? |

| Why is it costing so much to get it fixed? No insurance? Last time I drove when "upset" (yes, a woman) I totalled the car involved, and damaged the house that jumped out in front of me (I was only 20 at the time) - fortunatly was fully insured including cost of towing etc. |

| Damn, totalled the car and damaged a house. Lucky youre still here eh. The tow truck driver said that every car he picked up from that bend ended up on its roof, Im lucky I guess. I only have 3rd party insurance, cant afford $5700 a year for full comp. Lucky I worked 40 hours last week, 40 hours this week, 57 the next week, and 55 after that! I hope to have it all done (repairs, bodykit and rims) in late Jan |

| $5700 for full comp!? I know you are only 20 or so but Holy Fumbles Ryan how many prangs have you had in the last three years to be charged that much?? Still, I can understand why you find it better to self-insure.. |

| I havent had any accidents. That were my fault anyways, only had 1 accident that was someone elses fault. Self insure? |

| Many years ago I was driving an Alfa down a twisty wet mountain road. My car and tyres were good (for their day), I felt I was in the groove and I was thinking of this moment rather than the next... I entered another sharp bend to see a car and horse float stopped in the road. Startled, I tapped the brakes too hard and slid into a cliff. The damage was not great and I was able to continue and to make a big deal of the stopped horse float when explaining the damage to friends at our destination. However, I gradually absorbed the fact that the "accident" was 100% my fault. Although believing I was concentrating, my attention was on this corner, not on what might be beyond it and my cornering speed had too high a risk level even though I was 'good' for this corner if nothing else went wrong. And I was not even driving while upset. Ryan, maybe you should read this in a few months but I am writing it now while I think of it. I have read your explanation and your pics of the accident scene and I think you did a job of driving. You did not know the condition of your tyres, did not even feel how the car was behaving in poor conditions and were driving while emotionally disturbed. All bad, really bad. I take a pretty dry view of these things. Sorry, and I am not having a go at you personally, but you need to improve your judgement about when you drive, how you drive, what is the condition of your car and how the drive is going at any point. It is worthwhile doing so, or your ex-girlfriends will be tossing flowers on your grave or greeting you in your wheelchair rather than getting over your breakup. You probably already know all this but the message should not be glossed over in the chat.

| "self-insure" You said you had only 3rd party, not comp. That means that you were taking the own-property risks out of your own funds while saving the insurance premium, i.e. you insured yourself. |
