Mine is long gone and I don't know anyone local that has a Soarer or I'd measure it myself. What I am after is the height of the lip on the bottom of the front bar. Not the height from the ground, just the lip measured from top to bottom.
The land speed rules for my class allow me to manufacture a copy of the original and I just may go that way.
165mph (and change) or for the imperial challenged, 264kph. That's for a stock bodied, normally aspirated 3.0 to 4.3L engine vehicle. There's more to it than that of course but that's it in a nutshell.
If I can get the car low enough that the lip barely clears the ground, I'll be a happy man.
At the moment I have no lip so am unsure exactly where I'm at (hence the question). There is around an inch from the bottom of the mudflaps to the ground but I believe I can go lower. I can also go to smaller diameter wheel/tyre combination if needed but do not want to go any smaller there than I have to and increase rolling resistance. I don't need any suspension travel as such on the salt, I just need to go straight and flat out.
